The pre-alarm plays 30min before you really want to get up (you can change that). If the pre-alarm wakes you up, you will be more refreshed than if you had slept until the main alarm because at that time you would have fallen back into deep sleep. Give it a try and I am sure you won't want to miss it anymore.

Unlike most traditional launchers, Lightning lets you place items everywhere on the desktop, not only to the left or right sides, but also on pages above and below. Think at the desktop as an unlimited canvas extending in both horizontal and vertical directions instead of a strip, and you will get the idea.

This mean: as many pages as you need, more space for your apps, and faster navigation.

Lightning has some interesting features, such as being able to put widgets in folders (and even other folders for hierarchical navigation), or letting you freely move, scale and rotate any items (note: please switch to "free mode" first to enable rotate/scale).

Oh, and did I mentioned that LL was light on memory, leaving more RAM for your apps ?

With its wide set of options and switches, LL is one of the most customizable launcher, albeit perhaps not the easiest to configure yet ! Agreed, as most powerful tools, LL has a learning curve. But isn't that a small price to pay to get the most exciting and unique home screen ;-)

KNOWN FIRMWARE ISSUES (please do not report them):
- Samsung phones: Because of a firmware bug, they may report extreme battery consumption for GPS Status even if it is not running at all (other programs using sensors are affected too). This is harmless and no power is consumed! Just ignore it and let's hope that a future firmware upgrade will fix this on your phone.

- Droid 3: The initial Droid 3 firmware does not implement the satellite status API so you will not see the satellites and the signal strength bars. The rest of the features should work properly.

- Motorola phones: On some phones, turning your phone to airplane mode will turn off the GPS receiver, too. This is a hardware limitation.

- Droid Charge: Reports 0 altitude.

- LG Optimus: The phone cannot report the satellite SNR values correctly (all signal bars will be maxed out).

- Nexus One/S: With Andoid 2.3 it cannot report NMEA sentences. This means that the DOP/HDOP/VDOP values are not available.

- Workaround for Nexus S issues.
- aGPS age is correctly displayed (in hours / days).
- Fixed a rounding error in location formatting.
- More instruments for Nexus 7.
- Enhanced landscape layout. All instruments are available in landscape mode, too!

- New sensors (only Galaxy S4 supports them ATM.): ambient temperature, relative/absolute humidity, dewpoint, humidex (subjective temperature)
